So yesterday I went to a Lyme Specialist. The first Lyme Specialist that I've been to. I spent about 3 hours in his office being asked question after question after question, so the doctor could get a better feel of what I am fighting!
The Lyme in my body is affecting my; brain, heart, musculoskeletal system, and my nervous system. Next week I will start taking vitamins through an IV to get my body balanced and to see how I respond to them. I will also have some labs done to see if I have any major co-infections that we should be worried about.
I have a rare co-infection that the doctor has seen about 2 or 3 times. It's called Ehrilichia. It is dropping my white blood count drastically, and that is another reason why I will begin taking nutrients and things through the IV.
I've never had that done before so i'm a bit nervous, but hopefully it will help me feel better and get me on the right path!! :)
One more test that I will be having done is called MSA. It is a computerized energy test where they attach things to my hands and feet and on the computer it shows whether I have any other infections and it also possibly shows how they could be treated!
It'll be interesting to see what that leads too...!

The Next Step
A couple days ago I went back to my doctor to find out the next step since I've been taking amoxicilin. He told me he wanted to keep me on it for another 3 weeks and then see how I am feeling.
I have been feeling good, thank God, and this is my due-time to get sick, and I haven't!! :) (knock on wood)
The thing is I am on 500 mg of amoxicilin a day. Everyday. It is helping me feel better so far, that's just a lot of drugs for me only being 14.
The only things that have been bothering me are headaches, and the occasional stomach ache, but I have not gotten sick like vomit, diarrhea sick, which at this time I usually do.
The doctor suggested to us the Hyperbaric Oxygen way to kill the parasite, but it's hard to know what to do. So for now I am on the amoxicilin. I'm just very thankful it's keeping me from getting sick.

The aches & pains
So today I am doing good. We took my dog for a walk, and the thing I notice is being in the sun bothers me. The hot sun beaming down on me feels like it's communicating with the parasites. It just makes me feel run down, exhausted, kind of sickly feeling.
I also have been noticing a lot of pain/aches in my back. I have like a line of knots going down my back, in my neck, and even up against my skull. Like right on the line between my skull and my neck. I went to get a massage today and it loosens it up, but you just need to release all that tension.
The stress of being sick, just goes right to your neck. It hurts!
The lady who gave me my massage today was good with reflexology. There is a spot in your foot that is connected to every section of your body. Where I am sick from the Lyme is mostly my stomach.
The lady massaged the spot in my foot that was connected to my stomach, and there was a huge knot. Also there was a huge not that was connected to my large intestines. It just showed that, that's where the parasite is and that I have pain there. It is good to massage there though because it eventually helps you feel better in that area.
The bad thing is, as you rub it you feel the pain in that area, so for a while after my stomach hurt.

The feelings of Lyme Disease
The main thing that bothers me with Lyme is my stomach. I have the worst stomach pain, at the top of my stomach kind of in the gullbladder area. It's not just general pain, it's like a burning feeling. Kind of like heart burn, but in your stomach! It is not a pleasant feeling but for me, it comes often. Sometimes worse than others.
Also with the pain, you get naucious. Bad nausia. You feel like you will throw up, often.
Headaches are another part of lyme. For some people they are worse than others. I get migraines on the top of my head, and on my forehead, and in my sinus area. And here's a tip. Don't eat broccoli if you have a headache, it just makes it worse.
Different people with Lyme have different symptoms. Like joint pain is another major symptom. I have bad pain on both of my knees when I stand up or come down the stairs, which is a part of Lyme. Some people with Lyme lose feeling in their hands and arms. It just really depends on the person.
But the main problem for me is stomach pain. That's how this whole thing started.
People that have Lyme Disease have stricter rules to follow when it comes to everyday living.
For instance, the sun is bad for you. It actually feeds the Lyme parasites in your body, which of course make you feel worse. So if you have Lyme and you don't feel good being out in the hot weather and the sun, it's the parasite that's doing that to you. The best time to be outside during the day is after dinner when the sun is going down.
Also, the rules about eating. As I stated before; one of the key things to fighting a disease and feeling good is eating healthy. All greens and fruits with the occasional meat or fish.
For people that have Lyme though, it's even more stricter. Only green vegetables are what you should eat. Fruits aren't really good for you at all if you have Lyme, considering all the sugar that is in them. Especially fruits like strawberries, bananas, pineapple, oranges, etc. You can have meats though.
Okay so what do you drink? Well of course you can have water, you can have tea without sugar and caffeine, and vegetable juices. And instead of using sugars to sweeten your decaffeinated teas, try something like stevia and it tastes just as good. Also you can use stevia and add lemons to water to make it like lemonade which is also good.
In general you should never have a soda. It's terrible for your body. But if you're someone with Lyme Disease, it is crucial that you don't have soda. And what's funny is the doctors say that you can! Someone with Lyme needs to be really careful when it comes to that, sodas and caffeine, and sugar will just feed the Lyme parasite which doesn't make you feel good at all.
Not many people have, or know they have Lyme Disease. But those who do have it know that it is tough. Tough to fight, to go through. I am one of those people.
Since I was 11 years old, Lyme has been on my back, taking me down. Making me sick, and tired. I didn't exactly know that it was Lyme that I was fighting. All that I knew was that every 6-8 weeks, I would be sleeping on the bathroom floor in deep pain and agony. Grasping my stomach with my knees to my chest. Trying hard to get an hour of sleep without awakening to throw up.
Waiting for the 10 horrible days of these feelings to be up.
Of course, when those 10 days were up, I still felt something fighting me, but it was never quite as bad as those 10 days.
The thing was, I knew that 6-8 weeks later, the same thing would happen again.
I have been tested for everything you could ever think of.
-Chrones, Ciliac, Mono, Gull Stones, Autoimmune disorders, and many other things.
I have had 15 different panels of blood drawn from my veins.
I have also had ultra-sounds, GI tests (the berium was DISGUSTING :)!), even surgery!
But not one doctor has found any kind of answer.
I have even been tested for Lyme twice. But those both came back negative because the doctors didn't do a full Lyme check, and of course they couldn't read the results.
I have learned that you really can't trust all the doctors out there. Like the infectious disease doctor at Duke told me that there was no such thing as Lyme Disease in North Carolina. He told me that what I was feeling was all in my head.
Homeopathic doctors/ Herbalists know what they're talking about. I have actually been to both. The real key to staying healthy and fighting a disease is keeping yourself healthy.
You need to eat right to stay healthy and fight diseases. I'm talking all greens and fruit, with the occasional meat or fish.
I know what you are thinking, how on earth would you ever be able to only eat greens and fruit when you see all the sugary foods out there! Well it's not so bad after all. I am a 13 year old girl and I never thought that I would be able to only eat greens and fruit, especially seeing what everyone else eats at the lunch table everyday! But no worries, it's easier than it sounds. And once you start eating like that, you will see how much better it makes you feel! If I can do it, anyone can do it.
